Purbanchal Education Welfare society, a Trust constituted by certain enthusiastic person of the locality, marked its formal existence in the year 2003 with a view to cater to increasing professional and vocational needs of budding generation of this region of the country .

The mission of the society to Impart quality education to the youths of the North East to keep pace with time is well reflected in various non traditional courses as conducted by it through a number of institutions established for the purpose from time to time.

Receiving encouraging responses from students and their guardians through a few vocational programmes, the Society marched forward to established in 2005 a full-fledged institute of Paramedical courses for Women, The College of Physiotherapy and Medical Sciences, with affiliation from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. In the same year another institute of Engineering Courses, North East Institute of Aeronautics, came into being with approved from the Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. Of India, New Delhi. These two institutes marked as the pioneer institutes of the kind in the entire North Eastern Region. Continuing its academic pursuit, the society succeeded, after just one year, to established two other institutions in Nursing , CPMS College of Nursing with affiliation from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai and CPMS School of Nursing with approved from state Nursing Council, Govt. of Assam. Both these institutions are approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

Till date the Institutions are housed in rented buildings at different locations. To have a single permanent campus, the Society has already acquired 10 ten) Bighas of land at Bonda( near Narengi) , Guwahati and constructions at the site are under process.

The Society is looking forward for new avenues to fulfill its academic zeal and provide our youth community with a brighter tomorrow
